DAAD Scholarships for Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam
The DAAD is currently the world’s largest organization supporting international academic exchange and scholarships. In 2025, it funded around 140,000 German and international students and researchers worldwide.
Some typical requirements for DAAD Scholarships
- Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree (normally four years) and/or a master’s degree in a related field.
- The most recent academic degree should generally be not older than six years at the time of application.
- Applicants who have lived in Germany for more than 15 months by the application deadline are not eligible.
- APS certificate for master’s candidates whose degrees are issued by Vietnamese universities.

- Study scholarships for STEM disciplines give students from developing and emerging countries the chance to obtain a Master’s degree in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and engineering in a state or state-recognized university in Germany.
- Devlopment-Related Postgraduate Courses (DAAD EPOS) offer graduates from developing countries from different disciplines and with at least two years’ professional experience the chance to take a selected postgraduate or Master’s degree at a university in Germany.
- Helmut-Schmidt-Programme for Public Policy and Good Governance offers highly qualified graduates with a first academic degree who are being educated in political science, law, economics and administration and prepared for future leading positions in their home countries the chance to acquire a Master’s degree in master programmes of particular relevance for the social, political and economic development in their countries of origin.

- DAAD-Guest Lecturer Programme
- The programme supports international guest lecturers who teach at German universities. Its purpose is to promote the internationalisation of German universities and to strengthen the global perspective in higher education teaching. The programme provides funding for guest lectureships by international university lecturers staying at German institutions.
