German universities, like most universities around the world, maintain a broad network of international partnerships. The DAAD supports such international partnerships through a number of schemes that aim to foster cooperation among higher education institutions.

University Cooperation
Cooperation between foreign universities and German higher education institutions (HEI) include the academic exchange of students and/or professors, as well as regular scientific projects. Nevertheless, there is an even greater potential for establishing new collaboration in diverse fields of science.
An agreement on cultural cooperation between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany was signed in 1990. Since then, many new university cooperative partnerships have been established and consistently driven forward.
